Tina Novak-Robles

Born in Chicago and raised in Tampa, FL, music has taken Tina Novak Robles around the world before she settled back home in Tampa, Florida. As a young child she would travel to New Orleans with her family and perform aboard dinner boats and with bands in the French Quarter. She had a love for blues music and grew up listening to blues, jazz, rock and roll and Motown legends, and learned to play the piano and alto saxophone. Throughout her childhood, Tina developed her skills as a singer and performer studying classical voice, and as a featured cast member of, The Entertainment Revue, touring the state. Tina performed the National Anthem, and half time shows for major sports franchises throughout Florida in the NFL, NHL, and NBA. She performed at several high-profile corporate conventions, community events, galas, and charity benefits statewide, and at age 15, appeared on the nationally syndicated "Showtime at the Apollo," at the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York.

Tina spent her teen years collaborating with various producers and writers, writing, and recording original material, and recording demos to shop to record labels. Shortly after beginning college studying mass communications, at age 18 she signed a major production deal with a Grammy Award winning producer, Kevin “Shekspere” Briggs, (known for #1 hits with TLC, Whitney Houston, Pink, Usher, Destiny's Child & Boyz II Men), and relocated to Atlanta undergoing vocal and dance training and artist development. At age 20, Tina was the first artist signed to a joint venture on Arista Records by Antonio L.A. Reid. She then relocated to Miami Beach to record her album.

Her debut album "Been Around the World," produced a #1 single by the same name, and a total of 3 top 10 hits in Japan. While her album was climbing charts in Japan, Tina spent the next few years touring the U.S. and Japan and was based out of New York City. As her music career was taking off in the U.S., sadly America suffered the attacks of September 11th. The music industry suffered along with the nation, and with Tina being an emerging artist, her project ultimately came to a stall. She returned home to Tampa, FL, married her fiancé, and continued to perform locally.

At age 25, Tina dove into a new project, signing a deal with Tommy Boy records, and again relocated to New York City. With this project Tina was marketed as a Dance artist and toured the country as The Roc Project featuring Tina Novak. This album, entitled “Never,” produced 2 #1 hits in the U.S., on the Billboard dance charts. While her second single was at #1 on the Billboard Dance charts, Tina wanted to pursue a different direction creatively and personally, and decided it was time to return home to her husband and extended family in Tampa.

After returning home, Tina dabbled back into music a bit. She recorded a project that was released only in Japan, was chosen and advanced as a Hollywood contestant on American Idol in her last year of age eligibility; only to later be told that her previous recording contracts made her ineligible for competition. (This restriction was lifted the following season). Tina took her extensive years of experience, training, and knowledge, and started a talent consulting business, offering vocal coaching, artist development, audition, showcase and competition preparation, stage presence, and vocal/musical production services. She ran her business alongside her day job, working in radio marketing and advertising for Clear Channel Radio/i Heart Media. A couple of years later, she then decided it was time to pursue her dreams of starting a family. Tina and her husband welcomed their daughter in 2009 and a son in 2011.

While raising 2 babies, Tina returned to her creative outlet a started private vocal coaching and in 2011 and went back into business as “Tina Novak Voice Studio.” Presently Tina enjoys a full roster of students she teaches both virtually, and in person out of a home studio. It brings her great joy to see her students develop as vocalists, and strive to achieve their own success in their careers and musical endeavors. Some of Tina’s students have been signed to record labels, are attending prestigious college music programs such as the music schools at USC, Berklee and Belmont, landing starring roles in various musical theatre productions, recipients of talent awards in The Miss America Organization, on national solo tours, cast in nationally touring productions, and even as the opening act for The Backstreet Boys.

Tina balances the rigors of raising her 2 kids, volunteered on the executive board on the PTA, serving as president and vice president, while working as a vocal coach and Realtor, until she was asked to direct the performing group that she was once an original cast member of almost 33 years prior. Presently, her life has come full circle as she steps into her latest role as Creative Director of The Entertainment Revue. In her down time Tina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to her son’s baseball games, watching her daughter perform and play golf, walks with her Goldendoodle Rex, hiking boating, yoga, biking, being out in nature, and a good book.
